Come to TRP Sept. 25 – Oct. 4 to see Jordan Harrison’s dramatic, science-fiction play, MARJORIE PRIME.
Set in the near future, and 85-year-old woman named Marjorie (Kitty Reel), is losing her memory to dementia. Her daughter, Tess (Holly Shiveley) and son-in-law, Jon (Adam Cook), have bought her a “prime” named Walter (Trevor Miles) — a digital hologram designed to look like her late husband when he was a young man. The computer program listens to stories and memories in order for Walter to relay them and converse about them with Marjorie to help her not lose touch with her life and family amid her health issues. The play explores love, family conflict, morality, growing technology, and how we as humans remember and rewrite the memories of our lives.
