Greenway Farms in Hixson functions as a vibrant outdoor theater venue, serving as the official home base for Scenic City Shakespeare. Since May 2022, this 180-acre city park has hosted the company’s popular “Shakespeare in the Park” series, turning the natural rolling fields and wooded backdrops along the North Chickamauga Creek into an open-air stage.

If you are planning to experience live theater at the farm, the experience is completely different from a standard auditorium.

🎭 What It’s Like to Attend

• The Set-Up: There is no permanent stage or stadium seating. The actors utilize the natural terrain of the park, and the audience sits directly on the grass. Bringing your own lawn chairs or picnic blankets is required.
• Admission: True to the theater company’s mission, general admission to their primary park productions is completely free. However, because the seating area is bounded by the natural landscape, reserving a spot online in advance is highly recommended so organizers can track crowd sizes and push out weather updates.
• The Vibe: It is highly relaxed, family-friendly, and community-oriented. Audiences are welcome to bring food and non-alcoholic drinks to enjoy a sunset picnic before the curtain rises
