The War of the Worlds @ The Mars Theater | LaFayette | Georgia | United States

Performances are weekends Friday and Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 2:30pm with a special Halloween showing on October 31st at 8pm.

No one would have truly believed, in the early years of the 20th century, that our world was being watched by intelligences greater than our own. As we busied ourselves, they were scrutinizing and studying us, as precisely as a scientist with a microscope might study the tiny bacteria that swarm and multiply in a drop of water. With infinite complacency mankind went about our petty concerns, confident in our empire over this small, spinning fragment of cosmic driftwood, which, by chance or design, man has inherited out of the dark mystery of time and space. Meanwhile, across the dark gulf of the universe, intellects vast and cool and unsympathetic looked down on our planet with envious eyes. And slowly, and surely, they drew their plans against us.

THE LIBRARY – Circle Theatre (general seating) – Mystery
October 28 through November 6, 2016. By Scott Z. Burns

The Library is a ‘ripped from the headlines’ new play. First produced on Broadway in 2014, The Library is the story of a girl who survives a deadly shooting at her high school and struggles to tell her story but is painted in a different light by the media when other stories take hold. Renowned Hollywood screenwriter Scott Z. Burns has created a bold and chilling play that makes us evaluate who is telling the truth and what really happened that day.
